The Hockey Academy is the official provider of the St. Louis Blues Camp.

The Hockey Academy of St. Louis will once again host the annual St. Louis Blues Summer Camp in 2008. This unique offering allows players to practice and dress at the St. Louis Mills Ice Zone, the Blues' official practice facility and locker room! The camp is open to mites, squirts, peewees and bantams, and features NHL instructors, including Bryce Salvador, Jamal Mayers and Barret Jackman, and Hockey Academy of St. Louis' director and former Blues player Rick Zombo.

New to this year's St. Louis Blues Summer Hockey Camp is a separation of playing levels, meaning that only one playing level will be on the ice at a time.

Hi Rick,

This was the first year that our boys went to the Blues Summer Hockey Camp. For Brendan and Logan, it was definitely a fun learning experience!

9 year-old Brendan liked learning all the drills and meeting the players. He now wants to talk St. Peters into putting TVs in the locker rooms like the Blues have! The off ice stuff was “pretty cool” as well. Box hockey was his favorite…we were informed that is what he wants for Christmas!

8 year-old Logan can’t wait to return next year. He says that all of the camp instructors taught him a lot.

Thanks again, Rick. As their parents, we appreciated the ways in which you not only fostered competitiveness, but also confidence through individual and group learning. I’m sure we’ll be back next year!

Regards,

Christina & Mike Ritchie

Hello Rick,

Again, I want to thank you for putting on a very well run hockey camp last week.  Here are some of my comments:
  • very well organized at all times
  • ice time was highly productive in that the players spent most of the time doing the drills, instead of standing around listening or waiting
  • all coaches were very effective in their communications and interactions with the players
  • having the Blues players present each day really motivated Spencer and I'm sure increased his attention and overall effort

The only improvement would have been on the weather, so you could have done more dry land training outside!

Thanks again Rick for a very good and well run camp. You made Spencer feel welcome from the very first interaction with him on Monday morning. Spencer is already looking forward to coming back next year.

Best regards,

Mike Frank
