The Hockey Academy of St. Louis will once again host the annual St. Louis Blues Summer Camp in 2008. This unique offering allows players to practice and dress at the St. Louis Mills Ice Zone, the Blues' official practice facility and locker room!
The camp is open to mites, squirts, peewees and bantams, and features NHL instructors, including Bryce Salvador, Jamal Mayers and Barret Jackman, and Hockey Academy of St. Louis' director and former Blues player Rick Zombo.
New to this year's St. Louis Blues Summer Hockey Camp is a separation of playing levels, meaning that only one playing level will be on the ice at a time.

See what other's are saying
I would like to thank you and your staff for all your hard work at the Blues camp. This was our first experience with the Blues camp and my boys loved it! They are already talking about next years camp. I was amazed at how much Kevin (7yrs) and Nicholas (9yrs) learned at this camp. I can not stop telling people what an amazing job the HAofSTL does. My boys have improved so much in the short time they have been working with you.
Thank you!
Barb and Dan
Phoenix loved the Blues Summer Camp! I thought you did a great job of skill development while keeping it fun. I noticed his passion and interest in the game clearly increased because of the week he spent with you. I also appreciate the constant supervision and inter action you and your coaches have with the kids. I know that is exactly what he needs. As you know, Phoenix has only been skating for 10 months. Our goal this summer was simple: get him ready for a coach and a team while keeping it fun! Your camp was perfect for that goal as he really enjoyed himself and never felt as if he wasn't good enough. We definitely will be there again next year as as well spending some time over at HAofSTL this season.
Thanks for the hard work!
Keith
Thank you for another great camp. As always we were very happy with the camp.. Matthew absolutely loved camp again this year. Tim and I are so impressed with the way you really know each player and what they need to work on. You kept Matthew challenged and let him see how and where he can improve his game and at the same time he was having so much fun. I don't think Matthew really understood what coaches meant when they told him to be more aggressive until you took the time to explain it to him. We have seen a different attitude in his play and we thank you for that, he gets it now. Matthew always tells his friends about this camp and the Blues players that he got to meet and skate with. Thank you again, we look forward to next years camp.

We are in mexico, but will definitely fill out the evaluation upon our return after august 18th. As always, the camp was incredible!!! Rick, your professionalism & genuine excitement for coaching young kids does not go unnoticed. kyan came home smiling every day & shared how much he enjoyed camp!!! we will be contacting you after the 18th to get kyan set up for some hockey academy sessions. He doesn't start school until sept 3rd, so hopefully we can get some sessions in the last week of august. In the past, i always booked kyan with groups, because i thought he had to be in a group to particpate, however i just learned that i can set up appts for Kyan (without finding a group to participate).... is this correct? our schedule has been so hectic, we have missed several group sessions, so i'm exited to get kyan started with a more flexible schedule. we notice a huge difference in kyan's performance when he is getting trained at the academy. thanks again.

I just wanted to re-iterate what a great experience this week was for Eric. It is not a simple task to motivate and inspire 16 year old kids, while working their tails off and making it fun. Eric mentioned, more than once, that he felt like he was a better player as the week progressed. There was a good deal of one-on-one attention, which, in my opinion, separates a good camp from many others. We are both looking forward to the next opportunity for Eric to benefit from HAofSTL.
Thanks again,
Lindsey
As per your request for feedback on the camp experience, here ya go, but first, a personal note to you. Your camp was the only camp I have been to where the camp director had so much involvement. YOU made it special for my kids, and I don't think I can say "Thank-You" enough!! Your staff complimented you so well, and Sean F kept all the I's" dotted and "T's" crossed. What a great team.
Now, for my glowing recommendation for the Hockey Academy (Below):
"Again, a heartfelt thanks to you and your staff for a great week at Mite Camp. Both my sons' Adisen and Riley enjoyed the instruction, learning opportunities, camaraderie with the staff and players, and the personal and professional attention they received. I have been a part of many camps and yours was special in so many ways. We will be back for sure, and you can look for the boys on weekends at the Academy working on their basic skills.
Again, you guys were the best. Perfect!!!"
John
Attached is the group picture of the 2008 Blues Hockey Camp (Bantams). Cory had a great time and learned quite a bit. He wished it wouldn't have ended. We hope to participate in future camps. Once again thanks to you and all the hockey academy coaches and staff. It was very well organized. If you wish to share the pictures with the others, please feel free to do so, as we do not have everyone's email addresses.

Joe enjoyed your camp very much. He is really trying hard to succeed at hockey. Next week he is doing a CBC camp. He would like to attend CBC High School and play hockey for them. Hockey runs in our family. Our oldest daughter Jessica is a CBC hockey cheerleader for the Varsity squad and loves it.
Your camps are very rewarding, challenging but yet fun. Joe enjoys working with you and has told us personally. All of your hard work and efforts to make your camps and lessons show in how the children approve each time they are on the ice with you. Joe will see you this evening and thank you again for being such a important part of Joe's teaching in hockey. Hopefully, one day you will see him play on his high school hockey team!!!
Thank you for all your teaching techniques and working so well with Joe and all the boy's that participate in your camps!
Joe, Fran and Joe
Our son Jack looked forward to camp with increasing enthusiasm and self confidence each day. We thank you for finding the "right buttons" to inspire him-he seems to have found his stride in becoming a better hockey player.
Dennis and Karen
This was the first year that our boys went to the Blues Summer Hockey Camp. For Brendan and Logan, it was definitely a fun learning experience!
9 year-old Brendan liked learning all the drills and meeting the players. He now wants to talk St. Peters into putting TVs in the locker rooms like the Blues have! The off ice stuff was "pretty cool" as well. Box hockey was his favorite we were informed that is what he wants for Christmas!
8 year-old Logan can't wait to return next year. He says that all of the camp instructors taught him a lot.
Thanks again, Rick. As their parents, we appreciated the ways in which you not only fostered competitiveness, but also confidence through individual and group learning. I'm sure we'll be back next year!
Regards,
Christina & Mike |
